This chair started life in the 1950’s as a leather covered office chair with decorative nails around the arms to finish the leather. The seat was completely rotted as was the webbing and padding. The frame was completely stripped, and painted. Re-sprung and then padded. Finally, we decided to modernize the design by not using decorative nails to finish the piece, but instead to use a self welt around all the edges. It softened the look at gave it a more residential feel.
It now resides in a brightly lit, quiet bedroom.
